Just left yoga and found myself in a puddle of sweat and emotion. This journey of letting go hasn’t always been glorious… in fact, quite the opposite… but I’m always growing, and I’ll proudly honor that.
As I stood on my mat, I noticed how the mind and body resist what feels difficult. It’s only when you breathe, let go, and give in to the poses that you exhale so much more than just your breath…you release. Imagine all the emotions that keep you bound floating away.
As I moved through the flow, I reflected on the words control and resistance. They show up in so many ways: envy, fear, keeping records of wrongs, lack of peace, inner turmoil. If we aren’t careful, resistance can quietly eat us alive.
I much prefer the process of becoming a butterfly… flowing from a lowly, earthbound place to a happy, free, beautiful being. Letting all resistance go.
This transformation changes us. It teaches us that we have to go through the dark places to find the light.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
So go shake off the old and make room for what’s new.
If this resonated with you today, I’d love to hear how you release what no longer serves you. Share your thoughts in the comments or simply pause for a moment to breathe it all out. Sometimes, noticing the small shifts is the first step toward the bigger transformation.
With Love,
Erica
