When we did our final walkthrough of the house I had some emotions arise… and I wanted to share something honestly… because I know many of you are invested in our journey, and I appreciate that more than you know.

Coming back home, I think I had an image in my head of what this house would be. And the truth is… this isn’t the house my husband and I originally dreamed of.

But what it is – is safe, classic, and in one of the most quintessential neighborhoods in Wilmington. It’s the kinda of area I grew up loving. It has good bones. It’s calm. It’s established. And room to land after a big season of change…there’s something really grounding about that.

Right now, we’re being intentional. When you buy a business, when your kids are getting older, when life shifts… you don’t always move in extremes. You move wisely.

This home gives us space to land. To live. To see what fits. To decide what the next season looks like… Especially as Cannon heads toward college and we step into a different chapter as a family.

Maybe the next house is ‘the one.’ Maybe it has more projects, or a pool, or something different. Or maybe we realize this lifestyle… with a club, community, and less upkeep… actually suits us better.

This house lets us learn that without pressure. And for now, that feels exactly right.

I’m excited to make it cozy, to share the projects, and to bring you along… not because everything is perfect, but because this is real life, and this is how we’re choosing to do it… plus it’s got some pretty great writing spots for Cannon and I.
